Fabian Cancellara (RSR) was five seconds off the pace in the opening 3.1km time trial and placed eleventh. Philippe Gilbert was just fractions of a second slower in fourteenth place for Steve.

Andy Schleck (SNO) won the oldest one-day race on the calendar and Philippe Gilbert took fourth place to put Steve back in front after the spring classics. Thomas Voeckler (RSR) finished in 48th place.

Andy Schleck (SNO) took second place atop the Mur de Huy to narrow the gap to Lisa's team (who were not represented on the start-line today) ahead of the final Spring classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège on Sunday.

Amstel Gold Race

Philippe Gilbert (SNO) won the sprint for fourth place behind the three breakaways with Andy Schleck taking tenth place to score his first ever points for Steve. Michael Rogers was 71st for Lisa who still has a handy lead with La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège coming up in the next week to conclude this season's Spring Classics.

As an exciting six-up finale seemed on the cards, crashes left Tom Boonen (RSR) clear to take a solo victory and earn his third Roubaix cobble. Crash victim Thor Hushovd (SNO) won the three-man sprint for third place.
