World Championships, time trial

To absolutely nobody's surprise, Fabian Cancellara (RSR) took his fourth Time Trial gold in this year's championship race. More unexpectedly, David Millar (SNO) was second fastest. Michael Rogers was fifth fastest for Lisa.

Vuelta a España, overall

Carlos Sastre finished the race in eighth place overall for Steve.

Mark Cavendish (SNO) won the points competition and Philip Gilbert finished fifth in that classification for Steve.

Carlos Sastre (SNO) finished eleventh on today's final mountain stage and in doing so moved up to eighth place overall.

In the points competition, Mark Cavendish still leads for Steve but Philippe Gilbert (SNO) slipped back to fifth today.

Vuelta a España, stage 19

Another stage win for Steve today but this time it was Philippe Gilbert who took the honours. Lisa's last remaining rider in the race, Fabian Cancellara abandoned during the stage.

Overall Carlos Sastre (SNO) remains ninth. Mark Cavendish keeps the green jersey as leader of the points competition for Steve and Gilbert's win today moves him up to third place in that classification.

Vuelta a España, stage 18

Mark Cavendish (SNO) cemented his lead in the points competition with another stage win today, his third of this year's Vuelta. Fabian Cancellara finished 131st on the stage for Lisa.

Overall, Carlos Sastre held onto ninth place for Steve. Philippe Gilbert (SNO) still lies fifth in the points competition.

Mark Cavendish (SNO) won his second stage in succession today with Thor Hushovd second, also for Steve. Fabian Cancellara (RSR) finished 150th today.

Cavendish extended his lead in the points competition and Philippe Gilbert (SNO) remained fourth. There was no change in the overall standings, so Carlos Sastre remains in thirteenth place for Steve.

Vuelta a España, stage 12

Mark Cavendish (SNO) finally managed a stage win in this year's Vuelta and retook the green points jersey. Cavendish has now won stages in all three Grand Tours this year and equals the great Robert Millar's British record. For Lisa, Fabian Cancellara finished 155th today.

No change in the overall standings, so Carlos Sastre remains in thirteenth place for Steve. Philippe Gilbert (SNO) dropped two places to fourth in the sprinters competition.

Alessandro Petacchi (RSR) took the win in the sprint finish to today's stage. For Steve, Mark Cavendish was second and takes over the green jersey of the leader in the points competition.
