Neither of us had a rider in contention for the General Classification: Paolo Bettini (RSR) was nineteenth, almost 48 minutes down, while Steve's best overall place was Erik Zabel's 80th, almost two hours even further back.

We did better in the Points competition where Mark Cavendish (SNO) finished fourth, one place ahead of Bettini (though both scored 106 points).

In the King of the Mountains competition, Steven Cummings (SNO) was 19th overall (with eight points) and Bettini was 33rd (with three).
