Carlos Sastre (SNO) finished sixth today as the big guns fired (behind a four-strong breakaway) on the first day in the alps. Thomas Voeckler was Lisa's first rider home in 55th place. Steve's sprint hero, Mark Cavendish didn't take the start today: the first of our riders to drop out of this year's race.
