This year's Vuelta opened with a 13km team time trial in Sevilla. Mark Cavendish (SNO) was in the fastest team and also took the first leader's (red) jersey. The team of Andy Schleck (SNO) and Fabian Cancellara (RSR) was third fastest while, for Steve, Carlos Sastre and Thor Hushovd were in the fourth fastest team.
