Alessandro Petacchi (RSR) just missed out with fifth place in the mass sprint at the end of today's stage. For Steve, Philippe Gilbert finished in 90th place.
Fabian Cancellara (RSR) still holds the yellow jersey but slips to third in the points competition with Gilbert seventh overall and also seventh in the points classification.
