Marcel Kittel (RSR) won the stage in a sprint for the second day running. André Greipel (SNO) placed fourth.

Thanks to time bonuses for winning the last two stages Kittel now leads overall and will wear the Maglia Rosa when the race restarts in Italy after tomorrow's rest day. Kittel also retains the points jersey.

For Steve, Vincenzo Nibali moves up to eleventh overall.
