Fabian Cancellara (RSR) was fourth fastest in the Chianti individual time trial but after the satge he quit the race. Marcel Kittel, also for Lisa, was a non-starter today.
Overall, Vincenzo Nibali (SNO) remains fifth and Ryder Hesjedal (RSR) moves up to sixteenth.
André Greipel (SNO) keeps the red jersey as leader of the points competition.
