After a six-man breakaway contested the finish, Fernando Gaviria (RSR) took second place in the main-bunch sprint and so was eighth on the stage. Vincenzo Nibali was Steve's best-placed finisher back in 35th.
Once again, no change at the top of the GC today: Nibali is still fifth with Rafał Majka (RSR) tenth.
Arnaud Démare and Peter Sagan (both SNO) continue to head the points table with Gaviria 26th.
In the mountains competition, Nibali is now down to tenth with Majka twentieth.
