Thanks to a crash just over 3km from the finish, Alberto Contador (RSR) loses the pink jersey and drops to second overall. At the same time, Richie Porte, also for Lisa, drops to seventeenth overall.
In the points competition, André Greipel and Philippe Gilbert (both SNO) each drop two places to fifth and sixth respectively.
