Rui Costa (RSR) finished second on today's stage as a breakaway stayed clear to the end.
Adam Yates (SNO) still lies second overall going into tomorrow's first rest day. Dan Martin (RSR) is now up to third on GC as Joaquim RodrÃguez (SNO) drops back to fifth and Richie Porte (RSR) improves slightly to fourteenth.
Mark Cavendish (SNO) keeps the green jersey but Marcel Kittel (RSR) drops one place to third on points, to be replaced in second by Peter Sagan (SNO). André Greipel (SNO) remains sixth in that classification.
Costa's performance today moves him up into fourth place in the mountains competition.
Alberto Contador (RSR) became the first of our riders to leave the race as he climbed off some way into today's stage.
