Fabian Cancellara (RSR) took third place on today's time trial stage with Philippe Gilbert ninth for Steve.
In the overall standings, Carlos Sastre (SNO) held onto ninth place. Mark Cavendish kept the lead in the points competition for Steve while Philippe Gilbert (SNO) moved up to fifth.
