Alessandro Petacchi (RSR) took the win in the sprint finish to today's stage. For Steve, Mark Cavendish was second and takes over the green jersey of the leader in the points competition.
Philippe Gilbert (SNO) retained the overall leader's red jersey after finishing in tenth place on the stage. Petacchi and Gilbert are third and fourth respectively in the points competition.
