On the race's first hilly stage, Dan Martin (RSR) took second place.
Martin moves up to fourth overall with Alberto Contador (RSR) now eighth and Rafał Majka, also for Lisa, now tenth.
Marcel Kittel (RSR) remains second on points with André Greipel (SNO) fourth and Martin sixth in that competition.
Martin's efforts today also move him into second place in the mountains competition.
