Mark Cavendish (SNO) could only manage fifth place in the sprint finish at the end of today's stage. For Lisa, Alberto Contador finished in 34th place.
Thor Hushovd keeps the yellow jersey for Steve with David Millar (SNO) second and Andy Schleck (also for Steve) eighth. Fabian Cancellara (RSR) is twelfth overall and Mark Cavendish (SNO) is seventeenth.
After intervention by the race commissars, Hushovd is third in the points competition with Philippe Gilbert (SNO) fourth and Cavendish fifth. Gilbert retains the lead in the mountains classification.
