As the field finished in tatters today at the top of the final climb of the Pyrenees, Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) gamely held on for eleventh place on the stage. Adam Yates was the first rider home for Steve, way back in 61st place and more than twenty minutes off the pace.
Alaphilippe clings onto the yellow jersey into the final rest day tomorrow with Dan Martin, also for Lisa, fifteenth as Yates drops down to 24th overall.
In the points competition, Peter Sagan (SNO) still leads by a healthy margin with Caleb ewan (RSR) fifth and Alaphilippe eighth.
Alaphilippe is still fourth in the mountains classification.
