As the dust finally settled on the first Grand Tour of the season, Vincenzo Nibali (SNO) finished the race in fourth place with Guillaume Martin (RSR) fourteenth.

Arnaud Démare (SNO) was duly awarded the ciclamino jersey as the winner of the points competition with Fernando Gaviria (RSR) second and Mark Cavendish (SNO) third.

Bauke Mollema (SNO) finished fourteenth on the mountains classification with Rui Costs down in 46th place for Lisa.
