A dozen breakaway riders filled the top of the stage results today. When the main favourites came home eight minutes adrift, Rafał Majka (RSR) finished 23rd with Vincenzo Nibali (SNO) 25th.
Nibali is now fifth overall with Bauke Mollema, also for Steve, sixth and Majka seventh.
Caleb Ewan (RSR) left the race before the start of today's stage and so disappears from the top of the points classification leaving us with Nibali in 27th place and Majka 43rd.
As the break mopped up the points in the mountains competition, Mollema drops to eleventh and Majka to 32nd.
