Final Season Results

At the end of the final counting race of the season, Lisa's Ready Steady Riders ran out clear winners. So much so that she registered the third highest team score in the twenty years we've been running our fantasy teams and furthermore the margin of Lisa's victory was also the third highest ever.

So, Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) finishes fifth overall and France has to wait another year at least for a home victory in Le Tour. Dan Martin, also for Lisa, ends the race in eighteenth place but the best Steve's team could manage was 28th for Bauke Mollema.

Peter Sagan (SNO) takes a record-breaking seventh green jersey as today's third stage win for Caleb Ewan (RSR) moves him up to second on the points classification and Greg van Avermaet, also for Lisa, holds onto eighth.

The final day in the Alps was also curtailed by landslides and it was Vincenzo Nibali (SNO) who won the shortened penultimate stage. For Lisa, Dan Martin, finished nineteenth today.

Shorn of his yellow jersey, Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) lost more time today and slid off the podium down to fifth overall. Martin is up to eighteenth and, for Steve, Bauke Mollema remains 27th.

Peter Sagan (SNO) gets to wear the green jersey into Paris tomorrow. Caleb Ewan (RSR) is still fifth on points and Greg van Avermaet, also for Lisa, eighth.

His mountain-top win today catapulted Nibali up to fifth in the mountains competition but, for Lisa, Alaphilippe subsided to fourteenth.

After the stage was neutralised due to landslides on the course, timings for the general classification were taken based on the time gaps measured at the top of the Col de l'Iseran.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) finally lost his overall lead and surrenders the yellow jersey, two days from Paris, dropping to second. For Steve, Bauke Mollema drops to 27th overall.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) finished a very creditable fourteenth today, in the same time as most of his main rivals, and holds onto the race lead for yet another day. Although long in the break of the day, Adam Yates (SNO) ended up thirteen minutes down in 31st place on the stage.

Almost an hour behind leader Alaphilippe overall, Adam Yates moves up a place to 27th.

No change at the top of the points classification, where Peter Sagan (SNO) continues in Green with Caleb Ewan (RSR) fifth and Greg van Avermaet, also for Lisa, eighth.

Alaphilippe drops to eighth in the mountains competition where Steve finally has a listed rider as Adam Yates enters the list in nineteenth place.

A huge breakaway group dominated the last stage before the alpine showdown. Out of that, Greg van Avermaet (RSR) finished third on the stage with Bauke Mollema (SNO) fourth.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) led home the main bunch to keep the yellow jersey but Dan Martin, also for Lisa, dropped a place to fourteenth overall. For Steve, his role in the break moved Mollema up to nineteenth.

Peter Sagan (SNO) is starting to look impregnable in the points competition with Caleb Ewan (RSR) still fifth and van Avermaet now up to eighth.

Alaphilippe holds onto fourth place on the mountains classification.

A sprint finish to the first stage after the rest day resulted in a win for Caleb Ewan (RSR) with Peter Sagan (SNO) fourth.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) finished in the lead group to extend his time in the race lead by yet another day and Dan Martin, also for Lisa, did the same to move up to thirteenth. For Steve, Adam Yates is back in 23rd place overall.

Sagan maintains a big lead on points with Ewan still fifth and Alaphilippe eighth.

As the field finished in tatters today at the top of the final climb of the Pyrenees, Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) gamely held on for eleventh place on the stage. Adam Yates was the first rider home for Steve, way back in 61st place and more than twenty minutes off the pace.

Alaphilippe clings onto the yellow jersey into the final rest day tomorrow with Dan Martin, also for Lisa, fifteenth as Yates drops down to 24th overall.

Tour de France, stage 10

A sprint at the end of today' s stage, unusual in taking place on the second Monday of the Tour with the first rest day delayed until tomorrow, gave Caleb Ewan (RSR) third place as Peter Sagan (SNO) could only manage fifth place.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) carries the yellow jersey into the rest day with Dana Yates (SNO) now up to  seventh overall with Dan Martin (RSR) now ninth.

Sagan still holds a substantial lead in the points competition as Ewan moves up to seventh at the expense of Greg van Avermaet (RSR) who drops to eighth.

Alaphilippe is still seventeenth on the mountains classification.

On a day when a fifteen-man break stayed away to the end of the stage, Bauke Mollema (SNO) finished nineteenth and Greg van Avermaet (RSR) was 28th man home.

The general classification was untroubled by today's result so Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) will wear the yellow jersey again tomorrow, Adam Yates (SNO) is still twelfth and Dan Martin (RSR) is still sixteenth.

Peter Sagan (SNO) continues in green with van Avermaet down to seventh on points and Caleb Ewan (RSR) down to eighth.

Alaphilippe is now down to seventeenth in the mountains competition.

After yesterday's summit finish, today was one for the sprinters and the usual suspects contested the win with Caleb Ewan (RSR) taking second place in front of Peter Sagan (SNO) third.

Tour de France, stage 5

The lumpy approach to the end of today's stage meant the sprint finish was contested by a mostly different cast of characters to yesterday. Peter Sagan (SNO) took the win and Greg van Avermaet was fifth for Lisa.

Julian Alaphilippe (RSR) finished in the leading group and so keeps the yellow jersey for another day. Sagan is now up to ninth overall, displacing van Avermaet who drops to tenth.

Sagan extended his lead on points and so will wear green again tomorrow. Van Avermat is still seventh on that classification.

Van Avermaet drops to fifth in the mountains competition and Alaphilippe is also down, in his case to eighth (of eleven).

Alaphilippe did enough today to take the overall lead and wear yellow tomorrow. Van Avermaet moves up to ninth with Sagan now eighteenth.

Sagan takes over the Green jersey as leader on points in his own right. Van Avermaet is up to fifth and Alaphilippe is now seventh.

Van Avermaet loses the polka dot jersey and drops to third in the mountains competition where Alaphilippe is now fourth of the five riders to score points thus far.

Peter Sagan (SNO) was just pipped at the line in the opening sprint as Caleb Ewan (RSR) picked up third place on the stage.

These results, of course, also mean that Sagan and Ewan are second and third overall. Greg van Avermaet (RSR) lies eleventh.

Sagan is, likewise, second in the green jersey competition but, thanks to the effects of the intermediate sprint, van Avermaet is sixth while Ewan is only seventh on points. Although second in the classification, Sagan will wear the green jersey tomorrow.

Van Avermaet leads the mountains classification and will wear the polka-dot jersey tomorrow.
